Day 1 | Arrive at Cuckfield

Check in to your room and explore the grounds of your stunning hotel, perhaps indulging in a spa treatment before dinner.

Day 2  | Optional Round Trip: Ridgeview Wine Estate, Ditchling - Distance: 31mi/50km

Our destination mangers will call by after breakfast to handover your bikes and talk you through the details of your cycling tour. After this, it is time to get in the saddle and set off to explore the countryside. Our first recommended ride takes you to Ridgeview Wine Estate, an award-winning producer and supplier of sparkling wine to the royal family. Start the ride by passing through the quaint village of Lindfield before following scenic rural roads to Ditchling, a picturesque spot at the foot of the South Downs and home to the Arts and Craft movement of the 19th century. On the outskirts of the village is Ridgeview, where we can organise a tour and tasting on request. Ride back to Ockenden via Hurstpierpoint and Bolney before unwinding at the hotel with a well-earned glass of something nice.

Day 3 | Optional Round Trip: Sheffield Park and the Bluebell Railway - Distance: 21 mi/35km

For those staying with us for three nights, we have another great ride for you to enjoy today. Saddle up and head out of town via Lindfield once more. From here you will take a route on some wonderfully quiet roads through the Wealden landscape to Sheffield Park and Garden, a stunning 18th century garden and a perfect place to take a break with a picnic or a visit to the tea rooms. Just along the road from here is the Bluebell Railway, a preserved stretch of Victorian railway where you can take a ride on a steam train and soak up the vintage charm of the place. You’ll return to your hotel the same way you cycled in the morning, getting you back with time for another visit to the spa (or the bar!) before your last night in Cuckfield.
