Harvey Downard, Head of Cycling
Harvey started working at Cycling for Softies as our Loire Destination Manager and has since become our Product & Operations Manager. He is our resident cycling nut and has spent time in the saddle all over the UK, Europe and the USA.
His favourite trip to date was a two-week cycling, sailing and climbing trip in California. The next destination on his cycling wish-list is between Austin, Texas and the Australian outback.
Interests include every cycling related, climbing and outdoors activities.
Marton Kovaks, Cycling Expert
Originally from Hungary, Marton very nearly had a career playing Premier League football. He has travelled to many European countries as well as destinations further afield. When travelling, he enjoys learning more about country's languages, cuisine and cultures. Marton's most recent cycling holidays have been in Provence and Tuscany & Umbria.
Interests include sports, photography, spotting wildlife and delving into local history when travelling.
George Abraham, Cycling Expert
George is a keen traveller and cyclist. After spending five years living and working in southern Vietnam running and developing a successful eco-lodge, he has joined our team. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe, South-east Asia, India & Sri Lanka, Sub-Saharan Africa and The Americas. George's most recent cycling holidays have been through the Loire Valley and Tuscany & Umbria (on an e-bike).
Interests include travelling, sports and outdoor activities.
Philippa James, Destination Manager, France
Phil James is one half of the Loire Destination Manager team. An ex-IT teacher, she now enjoying a completely different way of life. Phil has taken up weekend cycling around Wiltshire's country roads, especially if there’s a coffee and cake stop. She even completed the Ride London cycle event last year.
Interests include keeping fit, skiing, gardening and furniture upholstery.
Martin James, Destination Manager, France
Martin is the other half of the Loire Destination Manager team. He brings logistics and operational management skills to the team, planning how to get guests, or their luggage, from A to B. A keen cyclist he has completed many charity bike rides in the UK and enjoys road and mountain biking.
Interests include playing football, golf, rugby, walking and quoting Monty Python sketches. He listens to up-beat music like Nick Cave and Tindersticks.
Sue & Simon, Destination Managers, Provence
Sue & Simon Chapman are our Provence Destination Managers. Previously a PE teacher and the Director of an Environmental Charity, they are in year six of their ‘second careers’, which includes managing a ski chalet in the winter months.
“We love food, wine, sun and cycling, so spending the summer working in Provence with like-minded guests is the ideal fit’."
Tom "Buzz" Bussenschutt, Product & Operations Executive
Tom works in our product and operations team. He sources and runs exciting new cycling tours and destinations. It's his job to make sure everything runs smoothly. Hailing from Australia, he has travelled extensively through North America, Asia and Europe, finding himself a new home in our London office.
Interests include skiing, cycling, travelling and being outdoors.
