Read moreThe captivating Italian island of Sardinia lies in the Mediterranean Ocean, off the west shores of Italy. The island is home to some of the world’s best beaches with many white sandy stretches and rugged, remote coves just waiting to be discovered.
Our cycling holidays in Sardinia will give you a flavour of life on this beautiful island; explore secluded beaches, learn about the areas ancient history and sample the fantastic foods and wines of the region. The roads here are largely car-free and with e-bikes used as standard on our Sardinia cycling tour, you’ll be able to cycle further and tackle the rugged coastline with ease, leaving more time to enjoy the ocean views.
Harvey, Head of Cycling
The best way to see Sardinia is by bike. Long, sunny days allow plenty of time to explore this enchanting island, leaving time to stop off to meet local producers of wine and olive oil, discover hidden coves or take a dip in the ocean.
A visit to Sardinia isn’t complete without sampling the crisp Vermentino wines for which the region is famous. A glass of this zesty white wine makes the perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood when on the coast. Sardinian cuisine is distinct from Italian cooking; in-land in the mountainous areas meats and cheeses are stapes, while along the coast, freshly caught seafood is the star of the menu.
While Sardinia is perhaps most famous for its sparkling waters and sandy beaches, there’s a wealth of nature and history to discover. In the South, the UNESCO heritage site of Su Nuraxi di Barumini, a 3,000 year old village, is one of the most important monuments in Sardinia. Up North, take the ferry to La Maddalena Islands, home to the Garibaldi museum.
A self-guided e-bike tour along the Costa Smeralda in Northern Sardinia. Dramatic coastlines, quiet coves, secret beaches, vibrant culture and abundant fresh seafood await.
