Day 1 | Arrive at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Arrive at your hotel and enjoy a stroll around the charming town. There are many museums and even some ROman ruins just to the south for you to explore.

Optional Ride 1 | Round Trip: Les Baux-de-Provence | Distance: 26.5 miles (42.7km)

You’ll leave Saint-Rémy-de-Provence following the Eurovelo cycle path before riding through the village of charming Fontvieille. Continue riding on to Mausanne-les-Alpilles, a good spot for a bite to eat or a coffee before you take on the only climb of the route. The reward is at the top of the climb, which finishes in one of Provence’s most spectacular hilltop villages, an ancient citadel perched in a unique rocky landscape with simply breathtaking views. From Les Baux-de-Provence enjoy some lunch and a glorious, winding descent back down to your hotel in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

Optional Ride 2 | Round Trip: Eygalières, Mollégès and Orgon | Distance: 31 miles (50.1km)

We have a couple of options for today’s ride. Both take you east of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with one a little over 30 km long and the other a little over 50 km.

The shorter of the two routes takes you out first to Eygalières, one of the most typically Provençal villages imaginable and a great place to stop and take in some stunning views of the Alpilles. On a Friday morning, the weekly market is a must-visit here. Continuing on, you turn north towards Molléges where the Bistro Chez Ju is a good place for a bite to eat, before an easy spin back to Saint- Rémy -de-Provence along the Eurovelo cycle path.

The longer option sees you continue initially along the Eurovelo cycle path through Mollèges, before looping south down through Orgon and then on to Eygalières, which is your best bet for lunch, with several cafés and bistros in the centre of the village. From here you roll back into Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

Optional Ride 3 | Round Trip: Beaucaire and Tarascon | Distance: 24.2 miles (38.9km)

If you’d prefer a shorter, flatter ride then our ride to the towns of Beaucaire and Tarascon is a great option. You follow the Eurovelo cycle path all the way to these two towns set on either side of the Rhône River.

We’d highly recommend stopping off for lunch in Beaucaire or Tarascon down by the river and visiting the beautiful medieval castle in Tarascon before returning back to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence along the Eurovelo path and soaking up this beautiful town of narrow streets and historical buildings.
