Cycling for Softies Team

Meet the Softies team!

Ben Roseveare, Cycling for Softies Director

Ben leads our Cycling for Softies team and has had a career in adventure tour operating for over 20 years. When not driving a desk he has climbed, trekked and biked extensively throughout Europe. Ben is mad about all sports including road cycling, running and trekking. His most recent Softies holiday with his family was to the wonderful Chateau de Candes single centre in the Loire.

Harvey Downard, Product & Operations Manager

Harvey started with Cycling for Softies as a Destination Manager in the Loire and has since become our Product & Operations Manager. He is our resident cycling nut and has spent time in the saddle all over the UK, Europe and the USA. His favourite trip to date was a 2 week cycling, sailing and climbing trip in California and the next destination on his wish list is a battle between Austin, Texas and the outback of Australia.

 Marton Kovaks, Cycling Expert

Marton is originally from Hungary, very nearly played 'premier league' football and is a sports/wildlife/history enthusiast who loves to travel. He is generally interested in languages and photography. He has travelled to many countries throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

George Abraham, Cycling Expert

George is a keen traveller. He spent 5 years living and working in South Vietnam, running and developing a successful eco-lodge. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe, South East Asia, India & Sri Lanka, Sub-Saharan Africa and The Americas. His most recent Softies tour was riding an E-bike for a week in Tuscany.

Philippa James, Destination Manager, France

Phil James is one half of the Destination Manager team in the Loire Valley. She’s an ex IT teacher, now enjoying a completely different second career. Phil has taken up weekend cycling around the country roads of Wiltshire especially if there’s a coffee and cake stop along the way. She also managed to complete the Ride London cycle event last year. Interests include keeping fit, skiing, gardening, furniture reupholstery and quizzy Mondays.

Martin James, Destination Manager, France

Martin is the other half of the Destination Manager team in the Loire Valley. He brings logistics and ops management skills to the team, planning how to get guests or their luggage from A to B. A keen cyclist he has completed many charity bike challenges in the UK and enjoys both road and mountain biking. Interests include playing football and golf, rugby, walking, and quoting old Monty Python sketches. He loves listening to up-beat music especially Nick Cave and Tindersticks.

Lee Hardy, Destination Manager, France

Lee, our man in Provence, is a new addition to the Cycling for Softies team.  An Armed Forces veteran and an advanced cycle technician by trade, he has worked at a number of the largest retailers and distributors in the UK. Lee is a passionate mountain biker and road cyclist.  When not on a bike, Lee enjoys trekking and later this year will be heading to the Himalayas on an expedition with the Royal British Legion.
