Day 1 | Arrive in Epernay

Arrive at your first hotel in Epernay and soak up the atmosphere of the “capital of Champagne” before your first delicious dinner.

Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2 | Cycle Epernay to Reims | Distance: 56km/35 miles

Today starts by leaving Epernay and picking up an excellent canal-side cycle path for some easy, traffic-free cycling for the first 18km to the charming village of Conde-sur Marne. Here the route turns away from the Marne and follows the route of another, smaller canal before the only hill of the day through some big, open farmland with picturesque rolling terrain. A drop back down to river level follows before a final stretch of canal-side cycling into the heart of Reims and your spectacular hotel. We highly recommend an early evening stroll around the historic city centre after checking in.

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 3 | Cycle Reims to Epernay | Distance: 43km/26 miles

The last leg of the tour takes guests through the Montagne de Reims, a wonderful undulating landscape of forest and vines. As their name suggests, this is the one notably hilly route of the tour, with one mile-long climb midway through the main challenge. The good news is that from there it's mostly downhill for the second half of the day, meaning a nice easy return to Epernay in time for a final dinner and another good night's sleep in our handpicked luxury hotel.

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 2 | Optional Round Trip: Ay & Hautvillers | Distance: 26km/16 miles

Our local team will meet you after breakfast to hand over your bikes and set you off on your first ride. We have a lovely ride into the nearby villages to get the wheels in motion. First up is Ay, a village considered the driving force behind a lot of the region's wine production and home to a number of the major Champagne houses headquarters. From here the route takes you along the canal to Cumieres, before a bit of a hill up to the wonderful Hautvillers, the birthplace of the Champagne process and one of the best viewpoints in the area. From here you descend through the vines back to Epernay.
