The city of Bordeaux, the 6th largest in France, offers a heady mix of a rich history, world-class architecture, excellent gastronomy and of course, fine wines. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site, valued as an inhabited historic city and an icon of the Enlightenment era. The beautiful Arcachon Bay offers a classy, classical seaside feel making it a popular summer spot for those in the know. The beautiful sandy beaches, delicious fresh seafood and an excellent network of cycle routes make this one of France’s best kept cycling secrets.
We love
Bordeaux City – Its architecture, culture, food and wine. The grand wine chateaux of the Margaux appellation. The sand, sun and seafood of the Arcachon Bay and the spectacular views from the top of Dune du Pilat.

Entered through a courtyard area, a haven of peace amongst the hustle and bustle of the city and set on a quiet street on the edge of Bordeaux’s ‘golden triangle’, this trendy 5* hotel is an establishment that exudes sophistication throughout. Each room has been given thorough attention by interior designers and artists, resulting in some staggeringly beautiful spaces for you to call home for a few nights.
This wonderful hotel is located in a historic building, filled with eccentric furnishings that give a nod to its use as the former institute of Zoology in Bordeaux. Relax in comfort in one of their wonderfully decorated rooms. Colourful yet tasteful, you'll feel as if you've been transported into another world. Boasting a restaurant, bar and well-being facility, relax in the jacuzzi before hitting the sauna.
A colourful boutique 4* hotel in the heart of Arcachon and our favourite spot in the town. The hotel is situated walking distance from the beach, shops and restaurants of the town. Rooms are beautifully presented in a colourful yet classical style.

The vineyards of chateau Margaux and both cycle tours in arcachon to the dunes and the cap ferret were very scenic.
Fabulous places to visit - the Dunes were a challenge worth taking. Le Bistro du Gabriel, Bordeaux restaurant booking was an excellent choice. Arcachon is a great seaside town. We cycled from Bordeaux on a perfect cycle network.
