Branching out to Italy and Spain

Posted 02 Dec 2016

It’s time for us to expand our horizons, and we’d love for you to join us. Our customers can’t get enough of the food, scenery and culture found on our French cycling holidays – and now, we’re going to be sharing the beauty of Italy and Spain with you too.

Your holiday with Cycling for Softies

So, what makes our holidays different? Firstly, we take care of your experience from start to finish. From luggage transfers to luxurious accommodation and gourmet meals, we’ve handpicked every detail. During your cycling tour, you’ll experience some of Europe’s most scenic destinations by bike – you might be cycling through a quaint, medieval village in the morning and over rolling hills in the afternoon, all before exploring a vineyard as the sun sets. You’ll sample traditional cuisine, meet local producers and discover fascinating culture along the way.

Whether you’re looking to take it easy with a short break on an e-bike or treat yourself to a longer, group holiday, our cycling getaways come in all shapes and sizes. And now we’re travelling to Italy and Spain too. Let's take a closer look at our new holidays:

Cycling holidays in Italy

Foodies have long flocked to Italy for its sunny, Mediterranean flavours, and on our new cycling tours, Italian cuisine is the centrepiece of your adventure. And we haven’t even mentioned the wine yet! You’ll explore the dramatic Dolomites, Tuscany’s timeless villages and the peaceful meadows of Umbria. Afternoons are spent enjoying al fresco lunches and sampling local wines – heaven.

Italy highlight

Discovering film sets, such as the dusty paths from Gladiator, on our Tuscany and the Chianti Hills tour
Enjoying a dip in the tranquil Lake Garda before spending the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the sun and trying out local gastronomic delights on our Südtirol and Italian Lakes tour
Choosing your favourite wine from a local range on our Tuscany and Umbria tour

Cycling holidays in Spain

We’re thrilled to have added the sun-kissed shores of Catalonia to our selection, and we think you’re going to love them just as much as we do. Situated on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, Catalonia is home to impressive Pyrenean peaks, historical towns and a dramatic coastline. Seafood doesn’t get fresher than this – you’ll see what we mean when you try the paella.

Spain highlights

Sampling some fine jamón ibérico before checking out the Dali museum
Discovering one of the Costa Brava’s most impressive and famous cycling routes
Relaxing and topping up your tan on some of the most beautiful, and secluded beaches in Spain
Taking in vineyards, orchards and rice fields as you cycle to the town of Palamos, on the coast. Don’t forget your camera (or your appetite)
