Why choose a Cycling for Softies cycling holiday

The Susi Difference - Cycling for Softies is still an independent UK company that has specialised in cycling holidays in France since 1981.

  • Susi has personally chosen each French hotel and restaurant with whom we work
  • Susi’s office staff also visit our chosen hotels and restaurants regularly
  • We offer bespoke itineraries. This means, with plenty of discussion with you, our holidaymakers, we plan a cycling holiday route to suit each individual booking
  • We employ bike-mad, francophiles as our assistants at each of our cycling holiday base hotels. Most now have homes in France and are passionate and
knowledgeable about their French cycling holiday regions as well as bikes
  • You are not in a group so you take your time, go at your own pace,
follow your own route, cycle as little or as much as you wish

Expect lovely surprises, you are sure to get them, as every restaurant is unique, every restaurant especially chosen.

Each region of France prides itself on its specialities. The French chef still buys local produce in season, still plans his menus according to what he knows he will find in the morning market. Ducks and geese are raised in the South-West, so that’s what you will find on the dinner table.
Herds of spotted cows chew their cud in the fields of the Mayenne, so just the place for camembert and brie and the other soft, creamy cheeses we all adore......

There will be gastronomic dinners in luxurious chateau settings on one occasion and gourmet regional specialities, little tasted outside France, on another. Some chefs will be offering a modern cuisine, others something more traditional. Every evening, dinner will be something to anticipate, something to savour, something to remember
