- PICKERING FAMILY 14TH HOLIDAY

“We had not realised how rural i.e. not industrial, and how beautiful both landscape and villages would be. We were enchanted with the region and appreciated the contrasting hotels. The grand style of Chambard & St Barnab{/des Tetes was a surprise, but I like a bit of luxury as a reward for such energetic days. ”
- E PEPLOE 3RD HOLIDAY

“The bikes were the best we have ever encountered, well adapted to the route, never a problem unlike holidays we have had with other firms. ”
- VIV HOOTON 1ST HOLIDAY

“Wonderful area, historically very interesting, very picturesque. Back-up at Blienschwiller excellent, bikes superb, panniers excellent. Hotel Winzenberg -top quality.”
- JOY HOOTON 1ST HOLIDAY

“The regions beauty exceeded expectations. I think the holiday should be renamed 'Alsace - The Gourmet Trail'. ”
- MR T JEWITT 1ST HOLIDAY

“Cycling is a unique way of enjoying all aspects of the countryside - wayside flowers, butterflies, birdsong - impossible by car. ”
- MARJORIE THIN 3RD HOLIDAY

“The breakfasts were very superior to our previous holiday - in fact, the food generally was outstanding everywhere. ”
- MRS S McKINLAY 3RD HOLIDAY

“Superb cycling, lovely area with closely spaced picturesque villages (as promised!), the right level of backup and support, excellent food and wine, incredibly warm welcome at base hotel and constant opportunities to speak French! We had feared we would be in an English 'enclave' with hordes of other 'Susi's' and were delighted to find we were in a very French environment with no other English tourists. Excellent service from your office staff who were happy to recommend - or advise against - particular regions and holiday combinations once they had taken time to establish what we wanted. Personal service to make sure the holiday we ended up with was exactly what we wanted. I think you seriously undersold the warmth of the base hotel and the charm of this part of France - thank goodness!! as we loved the lack of English visitors - our French improved in leaps and bounds! ”
- MR & MRS THOMAS 1ST HOLIDAY

“The scenery and distance between stops was perfect, hotels were great and food superb! THe terrain allowed for a great diversity in difficulty /ease of routes to cycle. ”
- MS A DICEY 1ST HOLIDAY

“The combination of wonderful exercise by day and putting your feet up in luxury each evening, was GREAT. We enjoyed it all so much. We think you have a winning formula - wouldn't like to tamper with it! ”
- MR & MRS DICEY 2ND HOLIDAY

“From the taxi collection to the obliging staff at Hotel Winzenberg to Nick, our best ever cycle organiser and knowledgeable guide for the area, there was not a hitch to any plan. Our stay at the Schwartzer Adler in Oberbergan was the highligh of our trip. A genial deskman showed us through the hotel's grand wine cellars, we had superb meals and my husband organised a 1986 Bordeaux which was an inspired choice of wine! ”
- Robin and Betty Manson (New Zealand)

“Your brochure gives just enough information to tempt, but leaving much to discover.”
- MRS ANKERS

“Thanks again for all your efforts and personal touch. Much appreciated.”
- MR & MRS BRODIE

“Excellent hotels – even better in Alsace / Germany than in other regions.”
- MR & MRS MARTIN

“All hotels were great but the Schwarzer Adler was tops. The restaurant there and the Auberge opposite were excellent.”
- MR & MRS MANSON

“Susi has always spoilt us but these hotels were really superb, way above average. Just keep doing what you do best. Plan and plot personal itineraries for holidaymakers of all ages.”
- MR & MRS RATCLIFFE

“The restaurant next door to Hotel Winzenberg was so good and accommodated my husbands gluten-free diet with such good nature. It was wonderful. The breakfast in the hotel was also great as they had gluten-free options.”
- MRS CHALMERS

“Enjoyed relative freedom while being taken care of.”
- S McDOUGALL

“Wonderful way to see countryside, places of interest, meet local people, meet other cyclists and exercise wll so that we could enjoy the excellent food.”
- MR HAY

“Heard of you years ago – finally made it! Hotels were grander than we anticipated.”
- MR & MRS TANCER

“Combination of physical activity and pampering with good meals, made it a very different and successful holiday. Holidaying on my own for the first time for years but was expected, welcomed and treated warmly by all.”
- MR SCHOFIELD

“A key element of a Susi holiday is the sense of adventure and element of surprise. In our experience Nick was the best rep we have ever had.”
- MRS PHILLIPS

Dear Susi,

We enjoyed our week of bicycling in Alsace to the extend that it prompts us to write you a special Thank You note.

Your representative Nick was extremely helpful in sharing with us his knowledge of the region: geography, history, customs, food etc. (we were bicycling with your company already 7 times - and he was THE BEST). The accommodations, in particular the ones in Selestat and Ribeauville were exceptional: the setting, the comfort, the ambiance, friendly staff and the truly superb cuisine. Again THE BEST.

We liked the warmth of our home base hotel and hospitality of its owners and we know now that we prefer Polish bigos to the choucrutte of Alsace.

Thanks again and hopefully till next year. ”
- T.&.B Rohozinski

“We had no idea that Alsace was such a beautiful part of the world and we will definitely be coming back sometime. Thank goodness for the cycling that helped us keep off the extra kilos gathered from all that gorgeous food and wine! We loved the cycling and it has opened up a whole new world for us. Thanks to all in the Cycling for Softies Team for a wonderful holiday. Wow – wish we were there right now! ”
- Daryl, Chrissy and Kimryn Sherwood

“Just a short note to thank you all for arranging yet another superb holdiay. Everything was fine, organisation superb, even the weather was on form. Nick was a mine of information and could not have been more helpful. We loved Alsace not least the wine!, and I was so pleased to have been able to see the Isenheim altarpiece in Colmar.”
- David and Marlene Coppage
