The Susi Difference

It seems ages ago since I won the ‘Business Woman of the Year Award’ for introducing innovative family cycling holidays in France. This year, the wheels have turned full circle with my daughter, Claire, cycling with her own small children, and they share the same enthusiasm that I have for unspoiled France.

My first journey was in 1980 when we cycled as a family from Dieppe to Cherbourg with one child and a pannier full of clothes. Exploring France on a bike is still the best way I know to unwind, with its network of rural roads lined by wildflowers and a profusion of wildlife interspersed with sleepy villages that the 21st century has barely touched.

I am in and out of France every summer and I now intimately know every region featured in this brochure and I have personally visited all the hotels we include in our itineraries. As a result we have a close relationship with all our hotel owners with whom nothing is left to chance. From the warm welcome in the family run hotels to the gourmet meal each evening with the fun of choosing a wine from the vineyards that you have cycled through that day.

Each year we listen very carefully to comments made by our holidaymakers and take action accordingly. Driven by their suggestions the company now offers ten separate regions throughout France and amongst our individually chosen hotels we include 30 châteaux hotels and 12 Michelin starred restaurants. Perhaps it is then no coincidence that our holidaymakers return again and again - 75% each year.

This is your personal invitation to explore France from a bicycle and enjoy feeling relaxed away from the stresses of everyday life, fitter but no guarantee of returning slimmer.
