Cycling holidays in France

Market leaders for self-led, tailor-made, luxurious cycling holidays throughout rural France since 1981.

We offer personalised itineraries so there is a Cycling for Softies holiday to suit everyone. Whether you’re a keen cyclist, a regular francophile or a first time visitor to France with little cycling experience, we can plan a cycling holiday which you will both enjoy and treasure. See: Cycling Holiday Options

Each year we listen very carefully to comments made by our holidaymakers and take action accordingly. Driven by their suggestions the company now offers ten separate cycling regions throughout France and amongst our individually chosen French hotels we include 30 châteaux hotels and 12 Michelin starred restaurants. See: Perfectly Chosen Hotels

Perhaps it is then no coincidence that our holidaymakers return again and again - 75% each year. See: the Susi Difference

France is famous for its cuisine and delicious dinners are an essential part of our holidays. Gourmet meals are included for each night booked. See: Exquisite Menus

New for 2009

Our stunning new **** château base hotel in the secret Dordogne – the medieval Château des Baudry– has beautiful rooms, a courtyard filled with exotic plants, and is romantically peaceful. As everyone enjoys staying in châteaux, we have introduced two other fabulous châteaux as base hotels too.

Our new cycling holiday base in Gascony, the 12th century Château de Fourcès is surrounded by a moat, all part of the village fortifications. While outside it looks like a castle, inside it is more like a palace. Our new cycling base in Burgundy is the Château des Pommiers, high in the hills it is surrounded by vineyards. With magnificent views, sumptuous bedrooms and an enormous garden, it is a rural retreat.

Our 14 night cycling holiday in the Tarn now includes cycling under the Millau viaduct, a chance of a boat ride through the gorge, two Michelin starred restaurants, three châteaux hotels and a train ride from Millau to Rodez.

We have extended our German loop from Alsace to add Breisach to the already popular hotels in Burkheim and Oberbergen, with its Michelin chef. All three hotels are close to the Rhine cycle path.

Region to region cycling across the Massif Central from Tarn to Provence now includes a stay in Uzès, one of the most beautiful towns in France. Region to region cycling on a rather flatter route, Mayenne to Loire can follow the Mayenne and Loire river paths.
